So i was reading last night, and thinking about the person of Jesus. I was thinking about what it would have been like for the Jews in the time of Jesus. They had the Torah, which blatently says "thou shalt have no other gods before me." So then this Jesus guy comes proclaiming that He is "one with the Father", ultimately stating He was God. Could u imagine what your first reaction would be if u were a God-fearing Jew? It blows my mind to think of the step of Faith these people would have had to take to believe in this man named Jesus and follow Him. They would be going against the greatest commandment.
Now at first as i was thinking about this, I thought, "well Hey... they had all these signs, so it is easier for them to believe." But as i began to think about it... we have it easier. We are granted the freedom of religion. By believing in Jesus... we aren't breaking God's Law. This would have been a common misconception amongst people of that time because they were worshipping and following a man. It's just interesting to me.
Random thoughts i thought id put down while in class. :-) Enjoy. lol
